History
First models had a 20GB or 60GB harddisk. The 60GB model had WiFi-connection, memory card readers and chrome trim. The European models (also 20GB and 60GB) lacked the EmotionEngine chip, instead the PSone/PS2 compatibility was done thru software emulation. A 80GB model was released which was similar to the 60GB model. The more cost efficient 40GB model lacked the software compatibility for PSone/PS2 games but featured a less power hungry CPU based on 65nm technology.
Hacks
- Harddisk can be replaced with standard 2.5" Serial ATA harddisk. 5400 rpm is recommended for optimal temperature.
